The Angel is our much-loved village pub, right at the heart of Grosmont in so many ways.
It is run by the lovely Jim Hamilton and Chloe Skinner, who took on the Angel Inn in late 2019. Along with their family, they became part of village life very quickly – and at a very tough time, given the pandemic was just around the corner. Even when they were closed during the Covid waves, they were looking after the village with their brilliant takeaways (Jim’s amazing Burns Night menu remains legendary). Since they’ve been back open, they’ve kept on delighting us all with Jim’s fantastic food, great music nights, monthly quizzes and much more besides. The Angel is one of those incredibly rare places that is a proper village hangout, beloved by locals, with a fantastic restaurant that people drive from miles around to enjoy.
